Plage de Cortadura

This nearly wild beach is the only one in the municipality to hold the category of "natural" and does not come under any special protection. It runs along the left-hand side of the CA-33 road out of Cadiz and forms the sand bar linking Cadiz with San Fernando.  It is the barrier separating the inner part of the Bay of Cadiz from the Atlantic Ocean. Cortadura beach has a natural reserve of sand consisting of dunes that are home to the characteristic flora and fauna of active sand banks. The beach has areas marked out where different water sports are allowed.
